Bit of History
NED
was founded as the Prince of Wales Engineering College
with donations from the citizens of Karachi to commemorate
the visit of the Prince of Wales in 1921. The institution
was renamed NED Engineering College in 1924, in memory
of Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw, a well known philanthropist,
whose heirs made substantial donations for its development
on the first anniversary of his death. The college was
affiliated first with Sindh University and then, after
