Idris Kothari (EE, 1973)
is a member of the NED Convention 2007 steering
committee. He has extensive experience spanning
25 years in emerging technologies including 15 years
in high tech start-ups in the Silicon Valley. He
co-founded three successful companies in the areas
that include: PC Chip-sets, ASICs and Network security.
Held management positions of VP Engineering, and
VP Operations in these companies. As the technical
co-founder of VPNet, Idris was responsible for product
architecture and technical implementation. Managed
the development process of the first ever hardware
assisted VPN system including ASIC design. As the
co-founder of Semi-Custom Logic, Idris managed complex
technical contracts for the development of ASIC,
firmware and complete systems. As the co-founder
of VIA Technologies, a PC-AT and SUN-SPARC chip-set
development company, Idris managed two separate
teams that successfully introduced PC-AT as well
as SUN-SPARC Chipsets. |
